The jungle game
In a parallel universe, perhaps, on the wooden deck of what seems to be a lodge, in the tropical jungle (but which tropics?), under the warm glow of an orange star. A graceful young woman, long hair and a jaded look, lounges in a wide wicker armchair, a black cat with an anxious look on its lap. She holds it tightly by the neck. Mustn’t let it escape?
In front of them, on the floorboards, a big mandarin-colored ball, or maybe a small balloon, mirroring the planet that dominates the scene.
A barely touched cocktail is set on the sideboard, it’s apéritif time, night is coming. On the wooden furniture, next to the glass with its orangey drink, sits the cubic sculpture of a lagoon-green Cat God.
In the background, behind the deck, hidden among emerald leaves and stems, in the dense forest, an animal. It has black fur and yellow, curious eyes; it watches and lurks. Lurking for its prey, its ball, its child, its human?
No matter, it’s going to be dark soon and it’s time for the game, the Jungle Game. Cheers.
