The Kitchen addresses the condition of women. The protagonist, confined in the room that society has assigned to her for far too long, seems absent from herself. On the countertop, an egg with a broken shell lets a reddish liquid escape.

Childbirth or infertility; endometriosis, miscarriage, or menopause: it is a reminder of her condition as a woman. But she, incandescent in her cold kitchen, turns her back on the shell that continues to empty, she exists outside of motherhood. Within her, gestation is intellectual.
