Biography
Sophie-Gaëlle Martin, or Sofigael M.,
is a French visual artist, painter and illustrator,
residing near Paris and originally from
Boulogne-sur-Mer, on the Opal Coast.
Her oil paintings, influenced by the design and visual codes of the 70s and 80s, recount the silent tension of the moments that frame the tragedy. The artist explores the moments of hesitation and the tipping points that reveal the fragility of these peaceful periods of illusory innocence.
Sophie-Gaëlle has been awarded a finalist place in the major international painting competition TARTGET PAINTING PRIZE 2025, in the “Imaginative and Fantasy” category.
Sofigael M. has also twice received the certificate of artistic merit from the Luxembourg Art Prize, in December 2024 and more recently in December 2025, during his participation in the international competition.
Passionate about drawing since childhood, Sophie-Gaëlle attended art classes at her local School of Fine Arts during her teenage years, as well as photography courses.
After obtaining a Master's degree in Business Management and a Master's degree in Economics at the University of Lille, she moved to Paris and returned to graphic design and photography by taking up a position in visual and digital communication.

Finding, moreover, in oil painting and drawing, a happy way to express her creativity, the artist resumed her studies in graphic and digital design in 2024 and decided to devote herself entirely to the visual arts.
